Parent Information

The role that parents play in the life of a soccer player has a tremendous impact on their experience. With this in mind, please review the following information carefully.

Remember that the way you conduct yourself, during games, at practice and on the sidelines will directly affect the way your child acts. If you want your child to be a Good Sport then you, too, must be a Good Sport.

Let the coaches’ coach. If a player has too many coaches, and lots of people yelling directions at the same time, it can be very confusing for the player and performance will decline. Be encouraging on the sidelines to all players, on both teams.

Support the program. Get involved. Volunteer. Please, we need help with fundraisers, concession stands, and other endeavors. We need everyone’s cooperation to have a successful season.

Support your child and his team. Encourage teamwork. There is no "I" in team. Work together with your child, the coach and other parents. It is more fun when you are involved.

Monitor eating and sleeping habits. Be sure your child gets adequate rest and eats well. In order to do well at soccer, a player needs to build up stamina and foster good health habits.

Most Importantly, have fun. Enjoy the game, just for the thrill of it.

In recreational soccer, every child must play at least one half of the total minutes of the game. This rule is waved in tournament play.

If you have not heard from your child's coach, please contact the Director of Coaching.

Shin guards are required for practice and games. Soccer shoes should be used, not baseball shoes. Do not use any shoes with a front toe cleat.

Parent Conduct

In order to restore the game; the referees have the right to eject a coach and/or parent if this person cannot be brought under control. If a coach is ejected, this will result in a forfeit if an assistant coach is not able to take over the team. Remember, there are children watching. Parents are purpose to teach these children how to behave properly, control emotions, and be good sports. A parent, who is openly hostile, using profanity and acts unruly, is a source of embarrassment to his or her child. Please control yourself at all times. Soccer is a fun game that should be enjoyed by all.
